India's largest Public Sector bank is all set to announce its Recruitment
Project-2013. In 2013 and the Upcoming years, the
bankplans to shift focus on retail banking.As a result, SBI is coming
with huge vacancy in 2013, and according to the estimates the Bank plans to
recruit 9500 staff in the FY-2013.This means a
lot of Job Opportunities for the unemployed graduates of India.
Earlier in 2012, SBI had conducted the recruitment drive for the
9500 Assistant and Stenographers that attracted attention from lot of students
and likewise the SBI conducted the Clerk cum Assistant Exam on 27th May and 3rd
June, 2012 in which lakhs of students have appeared in the exam.

In 2013, SBI is coming with a huge vacancy for those who are
aspiring to make their career in the Banking Sector.According to data made
available by SBI, there had been a decline of 7542 overall staff in SBI.As of
March, 2012, the bank had a total staff of 2,15,481 employees.Now in order to full fill
the vacancies, the
bankplans to recruit 9500 staff this fiscal i.e in the Financial Year-2013.
Who can apply for SBI Recruitment 2013?
SBI Recruitment is open
for all the Indian Citizens who have completed their Graduation Degree and must
be in the Age Limit of 18 to 30 years.Although theeligibility criteria differs from post to post
and the same will notified in theDetailed Notification

Unlike 19 Public Sector banks, SBI Decided to stay away from the
IBPS Common Written Exams and decided to conduct its Recruitment exams on its
own.It is worth mentioning here that the 19 Public Sector Banks are now under
IBPS and used the IBPS Scorecards for Shortlisting candidates for the Officer
and Clerk vacancies.

As of now, State Bank of India (SBI) had 2.14 lakh employees and its is expected of Bank to increase the staff strength by 10 % in the coming one year.
Why SBI is Recruiting people in large Numbers ?
Since, SBI is the India's Largest Public Sector Banks ans there fore it had the Largest Network of Branches and the Highest Work force (Number of Employees). As of June, 2012, SBI had 2.14 lakh people on its Roles, out of which 80,329 officers and 95,018 clerks.The two major reasons that had been put forwarded by bank for this Bumper Recruitment
1) Retirement of Employees: In the coming five years, about 30 to 35 % or 70 to 80,000 of Bank Staff in going to retire.So, that is why Bank will need the people to fill up these vacancies.
2) Opening of New Bank Branches: SBI had decided to open 1200 bank branches this Fiscal. The Bank will be need the staff to carry on the operations in the newly opened branches.
Shortage of Clerks: Since SBI is facing huge shortage of Clerks, so it decided to recruit 19,000 clerks and only1000 Officers .Krishna Kumar said that this was being done to address the deficit in clerical staff in many branches.
